The best skincare routine for you? Here is some guidance

Skincare routine

A lot of people don’t know how to make a good skincare routine for themselves. Sometimes is hard to find some basic routine when there is too much information about this topic and it’s easy to get lost in it.

You should know there are many types of healthy skin: normal, oily, dry, combination (normal and oily most common), and sensitive skin. All of them can have some specific ingredients in the skincare routine but the basics are where everybody has a good start. And remember everybody needs to care about their skin- women, men, young children or older people. Skin remembers and pays back!

Basic products in skincare routine

Sometimes less is more especially if you have good products and a habit of regularly using them. Basic products are:

  1. Cleanser
  2. Hydrating cream or serum
  3. SPF ( Sun Protection Factor )

Using a cleanser every morning and night is very important. With this step, you wash dirt, extra sebum, and products you put that day on the face. Cleanser can be in form of foam or gel. The foam cleanser is way more for oily or combinate skin because most of them dry up the skin. Gel cleansers can use everybody. So now you have a base for putting cream or serum that hydrates skin. This product is unnecessary for healthy skin. After this use SPF that can be like cream, spray, or lotion. SPF is the key to protecting skin from UVA and UVB radiation from the sun. Easier to understand it slows down aging, making wrinkles and imperfections. And the most important thing is that SPF protects skin from tumor called melanoma!

Add some extra products if you like

Some of them are:

  1. Make-up removers
  2. Toner
  3. Eye cream
  4. Face masks
  5. Face exfoliators

If you use a lot of makeup or even if you think your SPF can not be removed from the skin only with a cleanser use make-up removers like micellar cleansing water, cleansing oil, or cleansing milk. You should use it as the first step in the night skincare routine before the cleanser that you use. A lot of cleansing oil or milk has some extra added oils for moisturizing the skin so here is one more benefit from using it.

After washing your face with a cleanser it’s a wonderful idea to use toner. This fluid is useful for a lot of things. Some of them are removing limescale from the face, giving back balanced pH to the skin, adding first hydration to the skin, and making a good base for the next steps in the routine. Some of them can have substances for cleaning extra sebum or reducing inflammation.

Eye creams are specially made for areas around the eyes where the skin is much more sensitive and thinner. It gives that area extra moisturizing. There are creams that contain other substances like retinol that can reduce wrinkles and dark circles.

Face masks contain substances in much more concentration than creams or serums. It’s faster to get your skincare goals using them because of that. You can use it 2-3 times a week.

Face exfoliators can be chemical or mechanical. Both of them remove dead cells, dirt, and extra sebum from the skin. It removes everything from the skin so the next steps can be much more effective. You should be very careful with this step. It’s recommended to use it once a week (oily skin) or a month (dry skin) because more than that can damage skin and make irritation.
